All change! |
As many of you will be aware there have been lots of new voices answering your calls of late and I am sure you would love to know what is going on at AKM. |
|
So here goes.. |
Since November last year we have been actively recruiting an IT tech and on the 14th January, Dave joined us. Dave has come to us having worked in a very similar business environment, serving a very similar customer base. We are delighted that he has joined the team, bringing with him a sound knowledge and practical experience of all things IT. I know from conversations that I have had with some of you recently that you've thought he'd been with us for ages. I suspect it's simply down to how well he has fitted in and just got on with things.
Working closely with Dave is our Cuchulain. Cuchulain has been working with us since October 07 and is now well into his 2nd year apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 in IT. Cuchulain is usually the 1st technician you will speak to, and until he learns to drive, he's very much office bound! He may be young and only in his 2nd year, but he has developed his skill sets immensely and can competently deal with most IT issues and queries thrown at him. |
|
So who else is there at AKM? |
Well we have Simon and Mark; our trainee programmers.
Mark joined us at the beginning of January to help develop our databases and support our ever increasing customers using Careflex. He may be from Belgium and have a slight twang of an accent but don't let that fool you; he understands everything you say!
Mark's experience within programming is not as extensive as Dan's, his predecessor, however he is learning fast and he is improving his skills and knowledge everyday.
Simon has been with AKM since November last year and is just starting his 1st year apprenticeship at CRC (the same course as Cuchulain). Whilst he is studying IT and all things Microsoft at college, his primary role in AKM is to become another competent and efficient database programmer. He's just starting out, but he's learning fast.
So that leaves three people (at the moment): Mandy, Chris and Tammy.
Mandy is our Customer Liaison Officer, and also joined us in November last year. She works part time at the moment and her primary focus is to ensure that you, our customers, are happy. She helps organise the boys' diaries, liaises with you, nags the boys (nicely of course) about calls logged and not yet resolved. She answers the phones and generally helps ensure that things run smoothly.
Well nothing has changed with Chris and Tammy. We're still here and focusing all our energy in making sure that you are all happy with our team, our services and what we provide to you.
Chris is our Technical Director, so he oversees and deals with all things database, Sage and IT. He can turn his hand to any problem thrown at him and focuses on ensuring that the team deliver solutions to problems you raise. He regularly gets his hands 'dirty' and often burns the midnight oil to get the job done. He develops and supports the team with their technical skills, which can be a job in itself.
Tammy, the longest serving member of the team, is the Commercial Director. She looks after everything else. She is the sales department, the marketing department, the HR department, the accounts department, the customer care department, the sage training department and the CareFlex department. The team support Tammy and she supports the team, so hopefully we have everything covered.
Now some of you may have worked out that there has been no mention of Dan yet. Well he's not been mentioned as he has left AKM. Dan left us late January to pursue another programming career nearer to home. After 4 1/2 years of being part of the team it does feel very strange not to have him around, but ultimately everyone needs a new challenge once in a while.
We are actively recruiting a replacement for his position and as soon as we find the right person we will let you know.
So there you have it: AKM and its team. A young, vibrant and hopefully dynamic set of individuals who collectively are working towards one common goal: to ensure that you get the best possible service at all times! |
